If an enormous event of cycle-racing like the Vuelta comes along (for the first time outside of Spain!) and the finish of a cycling stage race takes place in your town, then you may say: "This is Grandiose!" - Wow, brave ambitious men like (deceased) Relus ter Beek, Dick Heuvelman and Jos Vaessen leaded the way... and all the people from Drenthe followed and turned the Spanish Event into a huge provincial feast! - The organisation of Emmen was accurate, the crowd amiable and the day of 30 August memorable...
